To keep your high quality product looking it's best, proper care and cleaning is required.

Cleaning:

All products are hand wash only.  

To wash, use a damp sponge and mild detergent. Never submerge in water.

Towel dry and let sit in drying rack until completely dry.

 

Do not allow your item to sit on a wet surface.

Conditioning:

If your item begins to look dull or dry, use our signature Kettu WoodWax to refresh the wood.

You may also use mineral oil or wood conditioner; do not use other oils (olive oil, vegetable oil, etc.) as the build up may turn rancid.

Air Plant Care

If you purchased one of our air plant holders, please see below for tips on caring for your air plant:

​

Soak your tillandsia (air plant) in water for 20-30 minutes once a week. Shake gently to remove excess water and set plant in area with enough air circulation to fully dry. Mist with a spray bottle between soaks as needed.

- Most tap water is fine for air plants but water with high chlorine levels should stand for several hours before using.

 - A plant in bloom (a once in a lifetime event) should be carefully rinsed rather than submerged in water.

 

Air plants thrive in bright, but indirect, filtered light. Fluorescent lighting is sufficient in lieu of a natural light source.

 

It is normal for lower leaves to dry out as your plant acclimates to a new environment or as it grows. You can gently pull off dried leaves and snip dried tips off as needed.
